Dr. Spencer Whatcott grew up in Modesto and graduated from Downey High
School. He attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate work.
He graduated Phi Bet Kappa and first in his class from the University of
California Berkeley School of Optometry, where he also served as an Associate
Clinical Professor for seven years. He enjoys
traveling,
astronomy and
motorcycling.
Dr. Eric Miedema graduated cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in
Chicago. He has a special interest in contact lenses and was one of the
first in the state to be certified to fit the new contacts that correct vision while you sleep. Dr. Miedema also works closely with local
schools to provide eye screenings and examinations on the school site. He
also works with adult care centers to provide vision services for those unable
to come to the office.

heavily involved in his family,
his children's talents
and
sports.
Dr. Ken Thomas comes to us from Stockton. He offers his language skills
to our Spanish speaking patients. He has a special interest in helping the
developmentally disabled. Dr. Thomas also performs outreach optometric
services at the State Hospital.
